As
Louisiana deals with the devastating effects of recent flooding, we
must not forget the area’s law enforcement personnel who themselves are
dealing with flooding in their homes, yet selflessly go out into their
communities and help others first.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Sheriff Jason Ard Livingston Parish noted that 75 of his deputies lost their homes. “It’s heartbreaking to see a man have an emotional moment, wipe his tears away, and then get back on his boat and take off. He knows his people need him." (http://www.latimes.com/…/la-na-louisiana-flooding-20160816-…)
The Louisiana Sheriffs' Association has established a Louisiana Deputy Sheriff Assistance Fund to provide financial relief and assistance to deputies. You can help by donating today at http://www.employees1st.org/sheriffs.
